The Horror - Peter Pan Syndrome

Peter Pan, the man who could never grow up. Or the woman.

This project is about the fear of growing up. To be an adult is not something one necessary are, but is connected to what one actually do.

The author Dan Kiley, describes in his book from 1983; ”The Peter Pan syndrome. Men who have never grown up”, a playful, charming, fearless, immature and narcissistic man.

The Peter Pan-man Dan Kiley refers to is usually very successful on the surface. In a relationship on the contrary, he is frustrating to be with, emotionally immature and without the capability to handle love and responsibility. He is reluctant to have obligations and to keep promises.

The essences of The Horror – Peter Pan Syndrome is my own fear of growing up and becoming an adult. The Horror. And what does it actually mean to be an adult?

The sculpture consists of a doll carriage filled with different sized doll heads and Barbie-legs. The objects are glazed and painted porcelain, arranged on a bed of fake roses.
